Community members, including local residents, community partners, business owners, and people working in Northeast Minneapolis are invited to celebrate Northeast Bank’s 70 years of building community partnerships at their free Community Picnic Fiesta on Friday, Sept. 8, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at their Minneapolis office, located at 77 Broadway St. NE. The community picnic will feature free food, music, live art, and an appearance by the Minneapolis Aquatennial Queen of the Lakes.
The bank is hosting this annual event as a “thank you” to their customers and to celebrate their long-standing relationship with the Northeast community since 1947. Members of the community can enjoy free Dilly bars, beverages, tacos, corn, chips, and salsa, catered by El Nuevo Rodeo. All food and refreshments will be available while supplies last.
Northeast Bank will also be featuring a mariachi band and live art projects in support of the Northeast Arts District. The American Craft Council and Northeast Bank will be hosting mosaic artist Sharra Frank. Frank will be on site guiding attendees in a hands-on mosaic art project, in commemoration of the bank’s 70th anniversary. In addition, Northeast Minneapolis Arts Association member artist, Willie Brakke, will be presenting a live spray paint art project for all attendees to observe and enjoy.
Northeast Bank is a supporter of the arts and believes that the Northeast community is revitalized through artists’ involvement.
