To the Editor:
Minnesota’s current State Capitol opened to the public on January 2, 1905 at the cost of $4.5 million. Beginning in 2013, the Capitol went under an extensive 4 year, $310 million restoration. The restoration makes the
Capitol more functional, while still sustaining its architectural integrity, and expanding its public space in order to truly be the People’s House. Our state capitol is one of the finest in the country for which Minnesotans can be proud.
The grand opening celebrations will be held on August 11, 12, and 13; events include: fireworks, concerts, tours and more. Check out: https://mn.gov/admin/capitol-grand-opening/ for further details.
I hope to see you there!
