Aspiring firefighters, police officers and teachers walked across the stage at Stevenson Elementary on June 8 to accept their Pre-Kindergarten diploma. The 95 graduates enrolled in the voluntary preschool program presented a 20-minute performance, singing a collection of songs they had learned throughout the school year while proud family and friends had their recording devices glued to the youngsters. During the ceremony, teachers introduced each student individually and shared what they aspired to be when they grow up. Minnesota Education Commissioner Brenda Cassellius attended VPK graduation ceremony and congratulated each student for their accomplishments. The Pre-Kindergarten graduates will graduate from high school in 2030.
