For the first time, HeightsNEXT will be hosting a ‘Jams and More’ tasting event during the Columbia Heights Jamboree. Local residents are invited to share their condiment cooking wizardry by showing off their homemade sauces. Not solely limited to jams, cooks of all cultures are invited to share their sauce.
Each participant is requested to bring four to six jars of their jam or sauce and an item for people to taste it with. For example, if it is good on a cracker, bring the accompanying crackers. If it is good on a chip, bring the correct style chips. Either the cook of the sauce or a representative should stand with the sample to serve it to residents. Volunteers will also be on hand so cooks can visit and taste other sauces.
HeightsNEXT will provide napkins and tablecloths.
The event will be held from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday, June 24 at Murzyn Hall, 530 Mill Street NE, held concurrently with the arts and crafts sale.
