Homicide in Heights, police seeking alleged homicide suspect

A St. Louis Park man was murdered in a Columbia Heights residence early this morning. Police are currently searching for the alleged suspect.

Columbia Heights police responded to a disturbance at 1000 41st Avenue NE at 4:34 a.m. on April 20. According to the press release, upon arrival, officers found a deceased man who had succumbed to a violent death.

 

 

Occupants of the apartment had fled prior to the arrival of the police and several were waiting for the officers to arrive and are now being interviewed.

 
Police are seeking a suspect who was a new acquaintance of the occupant of the apartment. The suspect’s full identity is not known by law enforcement, but his description is as follows:
Black male, 5 feet 10 inches tall. Chubby build: approximately 220 pounds. Shaved head and slight beard growth. Goes by the nickname of “Ox.”

 
The suspect is considered dangerous and members of the public should not approach, but call law enforcement.

Anyone with information as to the identity or location of the suspect is asked to contact the Columbia Heights Police or the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office at 763-427-1212. The case is currently under investigation.
