Messiah Lutheran Church announces installation of columbarium

Messiah Lutheran Church in Mounds View has recently installed a columbarium by Eickhof Columbaria on its campus. It enables members of the congregation to purchase niches for themselves and loved ones to be in-urned there. A dedication ceremony for Messiah’s columbarium was held Aug. 16.
The columbarium installed at Messiah Lutheran Church features 72 total niches, which can hold up to 144 urns. The niche fronts are polished memorial granite made to last an eternity.

Cremation has been growing in the United States in the last few decades and now more than 50 percent of all deaths are being cremated, according to the Cremation Association of North America. Not just an affordable and simple option, cremation offers a flexible and unique way to memorialize loved ones in a dignified and respectful manner, according to the association. In its more than 1,000 installations across the country, Eickhof Columbaria has come across two recurring themes: the acknowledgement of an ever-growing acceptance of cremation and a desire for loved ones to be memorialized in a quality, beautiful, secure and everlasting structure.
