Mark Ritchie to speak at 2016 Sister Cities conference

Mark Ritchie, president of Minnesota World Fair Bid Committee Expo 2023 and former Minnesota Secretary of State, will be the keynote speaker at the Minnesota Sister Cities International Annual Conference beginning at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, June 11, at the Shoreview Hilton Garden Inn.

Ritchie’s presentation will reflect on his role of bringing the 2023 World’s Fair to Minnesota. The theme of the 2023 Expo will be “Wellness and Wellbeing for All: Healthy People Healthy Planet. The expo will showcase Minnesota’s global leadership in a wide range of economic, social and civic areas including health and wellness.

The Minnesota Sister Cities International Annual Conference is open to the public. JoAnn Blatchley, president of the St. Paul Nagasaki Sister Cities Committee, will also speak at the event. The St. Paul Nagasaki partnership recently marked its 61st anniversary and is a 2016 candidate for Sister Cities International’s Best Overall Award.

Blatchley will be joined at the conference by other local, state, national and international leaders.
