Growth in employment opportunities, entertainment options, residential communities and number of trips within the Riverview Corridor has led to the re-examination of transit needs and potential transitway investments.
There will be two public events in early December to gather input on proposed transitway developments. The first is a workshop to explore transitway improvements in downtown Saint Paul. The second is an opportunity to talk to the people who are working on the study and share your thoughts with the study team.
The workshop will be 12:30-2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8, in the Veterans Gallery in the Union Depot, 213 East 4th St. in Saint Paul. Downtown residents, employers, building managers and owners, and community members interested in better transit connections are encouraged to participate.
A detailed review is beginning of possible locations for transit improvements that will connect downtown with neighborhoods located between downtown Saint Paul, the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport and the Mall of America.
The open house to review study progress and next steps for transitway development will be 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9, at Shalom Home, 740 Kay Ave., St. Paul. Residents, employers and community members are encouraged to drop in for the study update. The Riverview Corridor study team will present current information, answer questions and capture ideas and comments from community members.
