Hops for Hunger event on Jan. 19 will benefit SACA food shelf

The Southern Anoka Community Assistance (SACA) food shelf and Financial One Credit Union present a Hops for Hunger microbrew tasting event. All proceeds will benefit SACA, which serves Columbia Heights, Hilltop, Fridley and Spring Lake Park.

The event, which will feature a silent auction and raffle, is scheduled for 5-8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, at Uppercut Boxing Gym, 1324 Quincy St. N.E. in Minneapolis.

Ten local craft brewers will be pouring, and Stanley’s Northeast Bar Room will provide a food truck.  There will also be home brewing supply stores and liquor stores that support the craft brewers.

Three bands will provide live music, including Stereo Pirates, The Brandon Projekt, and Free Fallin.

Tickets cost $25 in advance or $35 at the door. They will be available for purchase at SACA, 627 38th Ave. N.E. in Columbia Heights; Stanley’s, 2500 University Ave. N.E. in Minneapolis; and all three Financial One Credit Union locations in Columbia Heights, Blaine and Coon Rapids.
