Reception for art exhibit, 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Banfill-Locke Center for the Arts, 6666 East River Road, Fridley. The art exhibit, featuring BLCA members, is called “First Show II” and is on display Jan. 4 to Feb. 2. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays. Coffee Chat, 11 a.m. to noon, at The Coffee Shop Northeast, 2852 Johnson St. N.E., Minneapolis. The Columbia Heights-N.E. Minneapolis Women of Today will host an opportunity to find new ways to volunteer and meet members of the community. This is a community service and leadership organization. All-you-can-eat pancake breakfast, 8-11:30 a.m. at the Eagles Club, 563 Old Hwy. 8, New Brighton. The New Brighton Eagles Auxiliary will host the breakfast, which includes pancakes (all you can eat) and sausage or ham; or, eggs, toast and sausage or ham. Mounds View Sons of Norway meeting and games night, 7 p.m. at Abiding Savior Lutheran Church, 8211 Red Oak Drive, Mounds View. The meeting, free and open to the public, will feature Norske bingo and board and card games. Fridley Women of Today Chapter Meeting, 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Fridley Community Center, 6085 Seventh St. N.E. Fridley Women of Today – which meets the second Thursday of each month – is a nonprofit, volunteer organization with emphasis on community service, fundraising, personal growth and building friendships. Health and Fitness Expo, 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the New Brighton Community Center, 400 10th Street N.W. Attendees can participate in free group fitness trial classes and receive free personal trainer advice, prizes and a $20 discount on membership. Vision Board Workshop, 6:30-7:45 p.m. at Murzyn Hall, 530 Mill St. N.E., Columbia Heights (lower level). Manifest your goals by completing a Vision Board at this free event with The Columbia Heights-N.E. Minneapolis Women of Today. Bring a picture of yourself and two or more magazines that you are willing to cut up and share to paste on the board. Scissors, glue and poster board will be provided.
