Mia Vallery, a student at Sunnyside Elementary in New Brighton, and her Fuel Up to Play 60 program advisor, Matt Moore, were among the selected youth leaders and advisors who participated in the festivities on Dec. 9 prior to the Vikings-Chicago Bears game.
The students are involved in Fuel Up to Play 60, a national in-school program created by the Midwest Dairy Council and the National Football League that encourages students to eat healthy and be active for 60 minutes a day. A total of 17 students and their program advisors from Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota were rewarded with tickets to the game for their successful efforts to improve health and wellness in their schools.
The students on Dec. 9 appeared on the field before the game and ran out of the tunnel and through the Vikings ship just before kickoff.
