MVHS Alumni Choir to reach last measure at Dec. 9 concert
After singing together for 16 years, the Mounds View High School Alumni Choir will present its final performance, titled “Songs of Joy,” 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, at Abiding Savior Lutheran Church, 8211 Red Oak Drive, Mounds View.
Under the direction of Bernice Ness, the choir will blend members’ favorite secular and sacred holiday pieces. Parking and admission will be free.
The choir was formed in 1996 and has met for practice twice a month to work on pieces for the Christmas and spring concerts. The impetus for the choir came from fond memories of high school choir concerts and members’ respect for the choir director, Ness, that shaped singers’ musical interests from a young age, said an announcement from the choir.
