Tribute Trees as green gifts for holidays
The Friends of the Parks and Trails of St. Paul and Ramsey encourages the donation of trees in honor of family, friends and coworkers to area parks.
Available for year-round giving and also known as “tribute trees,” donated trees through the Friends organization replaces trees lost to disease, drought, storms, maintenance and age.
Tribute tree gifts are tax-deductible. After a tree purchase, recipients will receive a card announcing the tribute tree in their honor. After trees are planted in the summer by professional park employees, recipients will receive a map showing its location.
Purchasers can designate tribute trees to be planted in Ramsey County parks or in parks in Arden Hills, Blaine, Brooklyn Park, Falcon Heights, Little Canada, Maplewood, Mendota Heights, New Brighton, North St. Paul, Roseville, Saint Louis Park, Saint Paul, Shoreview, Vadnais Heights, White Bear Lake, White Bear Township and Woodbury. Specific trees preferred by each community are listed on the Friends website.
Tribute trees cost $100 per tree or $250 for three trees.
