The Mounds View-Irondale-Roseville Rams took second place in the state CI adapted soccer tournament last Saturday at Stillwater. The Rams lost to Dakota United 6-1 in the championship game.

Seniors Bruce Matusovic (one goal) and John Paulsen (15) saves were standouts for the Rams.

In the semifinal, Matusovic scored all four goals and Paulsen made 21 saves in net as the Rams defeated the previously unbeaten Blazing Cats 4-2. The Rams started strong scoring three goals in the first 10 minutes and led 3-1 at the half. Again they scored early in the second half and held on for the 4-2 victory.
