Autism spectrum, disabilities awareness fair Nov. 20 in Fridley

An awareness fair, highlighting the autism spectrum and other disabilities, will run 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, in the Islamic Center of Minnesota (ICM) gym, at 1401 Gardena Ave. in Fridley.

The event is free and open to the public. Attendees can learn about disabilities; how to work, interact and live with people with mental health disabilities and other disabilities; and receive resources and information.

Fourteen organizations will be represented at the event, including Fraser, ARC, Courage Center and Opportunity Partners. Speakers from the Autism Society of Minnesota, ANSWER and Amaze Works, as well as a parent, will give presentations.

Attendees can participate in activities that will help simulate the experiences of individuals on the autism spectrum and with other disabilities as well such as ADHD, anxiety disorders and sensory processing disorder.

There will be gluten free/casein free samples.
